Suarez slammed with ban

Without much delay, Fifa has decided to ban Uruguayan striker, Luis Suárez from all football-related activities for a period of four months for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini, which will rule the striker out of the rest of the world cup and the start of the Barclays premier league.

The Liverpool star will not be able to play or train for his club or country for four months after Fifa’s disciplinary committee handed down the sanction, which is sure to provoke dismay from Uruguay and Liverpool fans around the world.

The incident marks the third time in which Suárez has been involved in his career and has also led Fifa’s disciplinary committee to ban the player from entering any football stadium during the ban.

In addition to his punishment, Suárez has also been fined a sum of £65,800 and will miss nine competitive international matches.

According to Claudio Sulser, the chair of the disciplinary committee, which met late into the night in Rio de Janiero,"Such behaviour cannot be tolerated on any football pitch, and in particular not at a World Cup when the eyes of millions of people are on the stars on the field,” 

“The disciplinary committee took into account all the factors of the case and the degree of Mr Suárez’s guilt in accordance with the relevant provisions of the code. The decision comes into force as soon it is communicated.”

This decision sparked off angry comments from the Uruguayan FA who believe that suarez is being targeted but they haven't yet made any attempt to appeal the decision.

The Uruguayan national team will have to face their Colombian counterparts without their star striker in their round-of-16 match which they hope to win.

Serey die cries during anthem

After Neymar was spotted crying as Brazil's national anthem played ahead of their 0-0 draw with Mexico on Monday, Ivory Coast midfielder Serey Die was also seen crying during the Ivorian anthem.
Die and his team-mates stood full of pride as the Ivory Coast national anthem began to play ahead of his side's clash with Colombia on Thursday evening but the 29-year-old soon burst into tears.
Defender Serge Aurier and former Tottenham man Didier Zokora were quick to console Die before the match got underway and Newcastle player Cheick Tiote wasn't left out of the consolation party.
Rumours were circulating on Twitter that his father, who died in 2004, had passed away two hours before the Group C match, which they lost 2-1.
Die later revealed the reasons for his tears on Instagram and said;"It was just the emotions of pride to be Ivorian and serve my country that have made me cry because I never thought for a day I would be at that level"

World cup claims another in China

A Chinese fan has reportedly passed away after staying up for too many nights to watch the World Cup without resting.
 The 25-year-old man was found in his home in Suzhou, an area near Shanghai, sitting in front of a TV set just hours after Holland's 5-1 demolishing of Spain on Friday.
 Salvador, the Brazilian city where the game took place on Friday, is 11 hours behind Shanghai, meaning fans in China have to stay up all through the night to follow the watch live matches. The game kicked off at 4pm local time and did not finish in China until around 5am in the morning, and doctors believe the unfortunate incident was most likely as a result of lack of adequate sleep for a long period. Medical experts have now warned football fans in China about the dangers of sacrificing sleep during the world cup It's not the first time a Chinese football fan has passed away after staying awake to watch the game. During Euro 2012 a Chinese supporter spent 11 sleepless nights watching every game of the tournament and met his untimely end due to exhaustion.
 Chinese hospitals also experienced a surge in patients admitted with symptoms of exhaustion during the World Cups in 2006 and 2010.

I think a fundamental question faced by men in the pursuit of attracting women is: Can attracting women be learned? Is it a result of genetics � of having been gifted with prominent cheekbones, lean muscularity or a sizable organ? Or perhaps having a prominent checkbook and the right surname? Is it about having a naturally outgoing personality, charisma, and sharp wit? Or perhaps possession of influence and personal power?

As complex as women are, there is no one answer to explain their preferences. As individuals, they, like we, are different � with different genetics, different experiences, and therefore, different tastes. And it�s been said � there�s no accounting for taste. So, it may be true that to some women, height and good looks matter a lot. Some schools of thought say that women value financial security more. Others say that personality, masculinity, sense of humor, or any of a variety of different criteria matters most.

And so, the questions must of necessity be: Is it possible to attract women, and if so, can any man do it? And will it work with ANY woman specifically? The answer is yes, and no.

Yes, in the sense that it is possible to attract the kind of women that you like, and who would like you in return, but whom you need to actively attract to you. This requires you to learn the techniques for attracting women, and actively engaging in the pursuit. Sitting at home simply won�t do; you have to go out and approach them. Attracting women involves the application of learned skills in a consistent and persistent fashion. Just like any skill, it�s all about practice and playing the probabilities. You simply have to keep approaching women.

When you play the numbers, however, remember that your chances of winning can be enhanced by other things besides the application of the techniques. Some of your strengths can be emphasized, and your weaknesses downplayed. For example, age differential, or shortness, or obesity may hinder you to some extent, but should not stop you. Instead, play to your strengths, and remember that women�s preferences are not all the same. If you persist, you WILL succeed in attracting women.

However, it is not possible to attract all women, or just any specific one. If there were a specific woman that you wanted to attract, but who is simply not interested or attracted to you, no skill or technique or persistence is guaranteed to work. History is replete with stories of unrequited love � of men who thought that they can make a woman want them. If they had simply tried to attract other women instead, and kept persisting, they would have been met with success.

So, in sum, yes, attracting women can be learned. Will it always work? No. But if it allows you to attract the women you want, and who want you in return, isn�t it worth it to try?

Netherland disgraces Spain

It was a shocking scoreline as the Spaniards were totally demolished 5 goals to 1 by the Dutch men. The Spaniards went in front in the 27th minute from a Xabi Alonso penalty after Costa was brought down in the box; Robben Van Persie got the leveller with a header from the centre of the box which gave his team hope as they first half ended level.
The Dutch men pressed further and their hard work paid off when an Arjen Robben left footed shot put them in front in the 53rd minute. Van Persie came close when his shot hit bar but Stephan De Vrij made sure his name went into the score sheet when he put in a left footed shot in the 64th minute.
Left footed shots seemed to making their way to the goal post from all angles and if you doubt me, ask Van Persie who got a brace with another left footed hit in the 72nd minute, making the scoreline 1 - 4. The Spaniards huffed and puffed but couldn't find any other goal and In the 80th minute, Arjen Robben got a brace for himself when he banged in another left footed killer which ended the game in style.
1 - 5 was the final result which saw the Dutch team top their table in high spirits.

Kefee kicks the bucket

It is unfortunate to break the news that the gospel singer, Kefee has passed on. She fell into a coma while on a flight to Chicago, in the United States of America, where she was working, making videos amongst other things.
The pilot was forced make an emergency landing and she was immediately rushed into the Intensive Care Unit of an hospital in Los Angeles. Sources close to the family confirmed to Channels Television that the singer had passed on, although there is yet to be an official release of this tragic news.
Her fans and other celebrities have however taken to social media to pay tribute to her and sympathise with the family. The entertainment industry has again lost another; May her gentle soul rest in peace.

The former Barca midfielder, Cesc Fabregas completed his shock £30million switch to Chelsea yesterday and confirmed his beloved Arsene Wenger snubbed the chance to re-sign him. The Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had considered taking up the option once it became clear Barca were looking to sell the midfielder.But with the likes of superb players like Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain already at the club,Arsene Wenger decided his squad did not need another creative midfielder. Arsene and Fabregas continue to have a close relationship, while it is understood returning to north London was Fabregas' preferred destination. Despite the fact Fabregas' move to Chelsea has been mooted for several days, there remained an element of surprise that Wenger, who was known to be a mentor to the Spaniard, snubbed the opportunity to re-sign Fabregas from within the club yesterday. The ex-Arsenal captain was at pains to point out that it was Arsenal's decision to end any potential reunion, and not his doing. Fabregas quoted; "Firstly I would like to thank everyone at FC Barcelona where I enjoyed three wonderful years. It was my childhood club and I will always be proud and honoured that I had a chance to play for such a great team. 'I do feel that I have unfinished business in the Premier League and now is the right time for me to return. Yes, everyone knows that Arsenal had the first option to sign me. They decided not to take this option and therefore it wasn't meant to be. I wish them well in the future. 'I considered all the other offers very carefully and I firmly believe that Chelsea is the best choice. 'They match my footballing ambitions with their hunger and desire to win trophies. They have an amazing squad of players and an incredible manager. I am fully committed to this team and I can't wait to start playing. 'It was extremely important to me that this transfer was completed before the World Cup so that my mind will only be focused on hopefully helping my country try to retain the trophy.'
The Gunners will not be missing out as the deal will see Arsenal receive £5.6million, which will boost their already healthy £100million summer transfer budget. In addition to the buy-back clause, Arsenal were also believed to have struck a deal entitling them to 50 percent of the profit from Fabregas' next transfer.
 However, Sportsmail understands the payment made to Arsenal in relation to Fabregas' move to Chelsea will come from the acceleration of all performance clauses, as if they were achieved, from the original deal in 2011 when he was as barca.

The bad guys were being excoriated in the press and the good guys were going to win the war of public opinion and maybe even bring about some good governments. But it isn't turning out that way. There are no clear-cut winners and losers and the head of WikiLeaks has had problems within his own ranks as well as being in trouble with the law of several countries, ours included.

Understandably, the guys who have committed the worst offenses want him out of the way and everyone is taking guesses as to how long he will remain alive before someone kills him. The people in OpenLeaks is doing this a little differently; they are leaking the information to the media in bits and pieces and letting them take the blame for the leaks, hence, presumably, no one's life is on the line while this classified information reaches the public in a safer form of whistle-blowing.

I'm one of the people who has been in favor of what WikiLeaks and OpenLeaks are trying to do. I'm tired of all this secrecy and I do want it to stop. And if that was all there was to it, I'd hitch my wagon to it and ride out the storm of controversy.

But now it has taken a much more sinister turn. It is no longer about public officials misusing and abusing power and corrupt and ruthless governments toppling; now it has come to the doorstep of the people; it has come into the lives of all of us.

Hackers, in their rallying cry for transparency and no more secrets, has taken to hacking into the files of banks and financial institutions. Millions of depositors have had their personal information, their identities, and their lives stolen out from under them. People who stood behind the precepts of WikiLeaks and OpenLeaks are now their victims. It's still not clearly understood whether these hackers are part of WikiLeaks and OpenLeaks or are just hanging onto their coattails and operating on their own. It doesn't matter at this point whether they are independent agents or working in unison with WikiLeaks or OpenLeaks. All that matters is that these people who have had their personal information hijacked, had nothing to do with the secrecy in government nor the corruption that ensued as a result.

These hackers have taken it a step too far and it's time for them to reassess their objectives and find a better way to attain them without causing the rest of the world to come toppling down around them . . . Unless, of course, that is their intent.

Bomb blast hits Adamawa

The Adamawa Police Command has confirmed 18 people dead and 12 people injured in a bomb blast which went off in Mubi town on Sunday evening at about 6pm.
 A resident of the town, who identified himself as Solomon, said that the explosion occurred in Kabang area of the town in Mubi South Local Government Area where there is concentration of beer parlour operators. The public relations officer of the Adamawa command, DSP Usman Abubakar, confirmed the incident in the capital of the state, Yola. It was also reported by Maj.-Gen. Chris Olukolade, Director, Defence Information, that two people who had allegedly parked the car that carried the explosives had been arrested.
 Unfortunately, one of suspects later died in the hospital as a result of a serious  injury he sustained during the attack.
