FRSC COMMANDER TAKES DISCIPLINE TO ANOTHER LEVEL
On Monday 10th April 2017, tension arose at the FRSC headquarters, Rivers State after the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state, Andrew Kumapayi, carried out a general inspection on the staff in Port Harcourt.
The uniforms, finger nails, as well as the hairdos of FRSC personnel was inspected and Kumapayi took it upon himself to discipline female officers whose hair styles ran foul of the requirements of the Corps, by giving them on-the-spot haircuts.
Less than 24 hrs later, reports have revealed that the corps marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Boboye Oyeyemi, having viewed this as an act of public disgrace to female FRSC personnel, ordered the recall of the Rivers state Sector commander, Andrew Kumapayi.
Sources quoted the head of media relations and strategy of the corps, Mr Bisi Kazeem, as saying this decision became necessary in order to properly investigate the matter.
According to Premium Times, Kumapayi, along with other officers who engaged in this act have been slammed with immediate suspension, pending the outcome of an investigation into the scenario.
