Another Disaster in the North


According to recent reports, several people have been confirmed dead after a bomb exploded inside a motor park in the Northern state of Gombe, today, 31st October 2014.

Members of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Nigerian Police Force, including Military personnels immediately swooped into action in a bid to rescue as many people possible.During the rescue operations, an official from the NEMA revealed that about 30 dead bodies had been recovered and is likely to rise as they proceed.

The bomb which went off at in the early hours of the day was said to have been planted inside one of the buses by an unknown person or group of people.  

A State Security Service (SSS) official was at the scene of the incident where he stated, “They left the bomb inside one of the vehicles at the park, the blast went off at about 9:30am. Up till now we don’t know the number of people, but it’s a very busy park so many people will have died in such a bomb blast.”

No group or person has claimed responsibility for this gruesome incident but all fingers are pointing to the notorious Islamic group, Boko Haram. Three suspects have also been arrested by security officials and investigations are ongoing to fish out more.
