Ebola Outbreak In Port Harcourt

An unidentified doctor in Port Harcourt  was reported to have died from the deadly Ebola virus on Friday 22nd August 2014.

According to investigations, the doctor was treating a diplomat who was a primary contact to the Liberian - American, Patrick Sawyer. After avoiding being quarantined, the unamed diplomat immediately flew into Port Harcourt where he became ill.

He was secretly being treated for the Ebola Virus in a hotel. Unfortunately, the doctor who was saddled with the task of taking care of  him was infected and has been confirmed dead.

The doctor, father of a 3-month-old baby, infected his wife who is presently being quarantined alongside more than 70 others.   

It has also been confirmed that his hospital" Good Health Hospital " has been shut down with the hotel that hosted the infected diplomat.

Further investigations showed that the doctor organised a naming ceremony for his baby before he died. The ceremony was host to a large number of people which has further sparked fears of the possible outbreak in Port Harcourt.

The Rivers State Government is presently trying it's best to contain the situation and prevent any outbreak. An isolation Centre Had already been made available before this event occurred which has sent out a positive impact that the state is fully prepared prepared in case of any possible outbreak in the nearest future.
