Tempers started to flair after radio personal, Tolu Oniru A.K.A Toolz tweeted the unexpected ban of Lil Kesh’s Shoki Video by the National Broadcasting Commission. The famous and well loved Video had been airing for up to 5 months before the news of the ban went viral.
Suprisenly, the National Broadcasting Commission came out to deny banning the video through their official Twitter handle. From their Explanation, it was gathered that a radio station was allegedly penalised for airing the club version of the song at a period when mass media( radio, Tv) was open to kids (Family Time).
They clearly Stated that 9am was strictly 'family time' which excludes airing club versions of songs like Lil Kesh’s Shoki due to the Vulgar Lyrics contained in the song. They also stated that the ban on the video was a rumour and the only thing they did was to order the suitable broadcast version to be played on radio and not the club version.
